How we make money

This page answers a simple question: who pays ClutchSkin, and does it change what you see? It also serves as the information notice on how the comparison service works, as required by the French Consumer Code.

Our only source of income: affiliation

The site is free, with no ads and no subscription. It is funded solely by affiliation: some marketplaces pay us part of their commission when someone coming from our site signs up and then buys or sells on theirs.

  • You pay nothing extra. The price and fees are exactly the same as if you went to the site directly.
  • The links concerned are flagged with the words "Affiliate link" next to the button, and outgoing affiliate links carry the technical attribute rel="sponsored".
  • A concrete example: DMarket's official programme pays 20% of the revenue DMarket earns from transactions by users who came through our link. On a €30 purchase where DMarket takes €1.50 in fees, that earns us about €0.30.

What affiliation does not change

  • The ranking. Offers are ranked solely by total price (skin pages) or by net amount received (calculator and comparison). A marketplace that pays us is never pushed up artificially.
  • The best price is always on top, even when we earn nothing from it.
  • No marketplace pays to be listed. There are no paid listings or sponsored placements on the site. If that were to change, the offer concerned would be labelled "Ad".

The sites compared

We track 11 marketplaces, presented in the comparison. Prices for each skin are collected automatically from Skinport, CSFloat, DMarket, Lis-Skins, CS.TRADE. The other sites are presented for their fees and terms, without price tracking.

The comparison is not exhaustive: other marketplaces exist. We only add one after checking how long it has existed, its reputation and its withdrawal methods. Gambling sites (cases, roulette, crash, coinflip, betting) are excluded, whatever commission they offer.

What makes up the prices shown

  • Listed price: the lowest price offered on the marketplace when prices were collected, for the exact item (weapon, skin, wear, StatTrak™ or not).
  • Fees: known buyer fees and card payment fees.
  • Total: what you pay, known fees included. The destination site may add fees linked to your payment method: always check the final amount before confirming.
  • Prices are converted between euros and dollars using the day's European Central Bank reference rate. Amounts shown in dollars are therefore indicative: the marketplace charges you in its own currency.

Update frequency

Prices are collected every two hours through the marketplaces' official interfaces (APIs). Each offer shows the date and time it was collected. If a marketplace does not respond, its last known price stays displayed with its date, then disappears after 24 to 72 hours depending on the source. Marketplace fees are checked manually at least once a month; the date of the check appears on each profile in the comparison.

Prices last updated: October 12, 2026.
